routes / In the mountains
The route begins in the main square of Sammommè, climbing toward Pian di Giuliano, where cyclists will find the first fountain to refill their water bottles. The ascent continues on a paved road before turning left onto a dirt path that climbs to the Passo dell’Incisa. This section passes through dense chestnut and beech woods, offering a peaceful immersion in nature.
From the pass, the trail transitions into a single track with a couple of challenging technical sections, leading to the Passo di Piastreta. From there, the descent heads northwest along the GEA trail through a beech forest, eventually reconnecting with an asphalt road that comes from Pracchia.
Following this mixed dirt and paved road for about 40 minutes, the trail reaches the area above Lagoni and Sammommè, nestled within the state-owned beech forest. At the highest point, riders will encounter the start of the “Il Boia” single track, which loops back to the Passo di Piastreta.
From here, the route continues toward Lagoni, featuring its picturesque lake, before taking a climb back up to Collina. At Collina, cyclists can access the “La Conca” single track, which descends to Valdi and eventually circles back to Sammommè, completing the loop.
