Diocesan Museum of Religious Art
This Museum, a branch of the Diocesan one in Pistoia, is divided in two sections: the chapel of Compagnia del SS. Sacramento and the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. The Chapel contains valuable religious vestments, from the Pistoia Mountains area, silverware and liturgical furnishing. In the Romanesque Pieve there are important paintings, including work by Sebastiano Vini from Verona and Giacinto Gimignani from Pistoia, the latter being the favourite painter of Pope Clemens IX, stylish sculptures and valuable goldsmith items, including Baroque artifacts from Rome.
