San Mommè (or Sammommè) is a small village located in the northern part of the Pistoia municipality, near the source of the Ombrone Pistoiese River, at an altitude of approximately 555 meters above sea level. The village is centered around the parish church of San Matteo.
The first houses were clustered around the small oratory of Pian di Ripalta, known as Il Chiesino, located in the hamlet of Savaiana. Over time, the village expanded around the parish church, with homes eventually spreading throughout the surrounding woods, characterized by lush chestnut forests.
